A sweltering Sunday in July brought the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) to Charlotte, North Carolina, for a Gold Cup group stage match with Trinidad and Tobago. And as has become tradition, the USA was backed by their most devoted supporters –– the American Outlaws –– while a crowd of over 40,000 witnessed the USA run out 6-0 winners at Bank of America Park.
We caught up with a member of the Charlotte American Outlaws Chapter, Chris Zeppenfeld, to get a first-hand look at how the Outlaws create an inclusive, unique, and raucous atmosphere for every USA soccer match. Get a glimpse of what it’s like to march and celebrate with the American Outlaws on a banner day for the USMNT.
